Does your auto body shop offer any non-collision services? If so, you have to let people know about them!
Examples of non-collision services:
- Paintless dent repair
- Detailing
- Windshield and glass repair
- Headlight restoration
- Window tinting
- Paint reconditioning
- Wheel repair
- Spray-on bed liners
- Rust repair
- Anything else you offer
One way to let people know about your other services is to create a simple one-page flyer that shows off these other services, and leave these in your customers cars after a repair.
How to Create Your Services Flyer
Creating a flyer doesn't have to be difficult. Use whatever tools you have available to you. On the low end, you can open up Microsoft Word or Google Docs, and create something simple. If you have a designer in the house, they might use a professional design tool, like Adobe Illustrator or InDesign.
For a good balance between amateur and professional, you can try an online tool like Canva. There are dozens of flyer templates you can use as a starting point, or start from scratch. Upload your logo, and type in a list of your services.
We’ve even created our own simple template that you can use to get started. Just drag your own logo into the top area, and update the text as appropriate for your business.
Once you’ve created your masterpiece, download it as a PDF, and either print a few on your own printer, or send them to a local print shop.
How to Get Them Into Your Customers’ Hands
Place a few of these at your counter or front desk, and also consider placing them in customers’ cars, or include them with your customers' receipts.
Keep a bunch of these in your car, and depending on the services your shop offers, it might make sense to place these on cars you see in a parking lot. For example, if your shop offers headlight restoration, and you see a car that would benefit from your service, leave a flyer on their windshield.
Don’t Forget to Add the Services to Your Website!
I feel like this is obvious, but your customers aren’t going to buy a service when they don’t know it exists! There’s a good chance they’ll check your website to learn more about the service, so be sure to have a page that lists all your services. To help Google find your services, it’s even better if you can create a separate page for each service.
Using our headlight restoration example above, we’d create a page for that service, and show lots of before and after photos to really show customers how much better vehicles look after you’ve restored their headlights.
In addition to your website, make sure you list these services on your shop's Google Business Profile, your Facebook Business Page, and other social media properties.
Final Thoughts
Show your prospects and customers ALL the services your auto body shop offers. It’s painful to find out your customer went somewhere else because “I didn’t know you guys did that!”
